The Teals Mill Bridge, and a portion of the Teals Mill Road, will be closed Wednesday, Feb. 26, from approximately 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation issued a statement Tuesday saying the bridge “will be closed to allow a contractor to remove barges from the water.”
A detour will be in place utilizing Songbird road, James Teal Road and Hunts Mill Road.
The barges have been hosting technicians conducting studies for the construction of the permanent bridge, scheduled to completed in a couple of years. The new bridge will stretch across the center of the pond and eliminate the sharp curve over the spillway.
