Students, families and fans gathered at the Habitat for Humanity Re-Store parking lot Aug. 21 to kick off the high school football season in Chesterfield County.
The Big Thursday Tailgate festival, held the night before the opening game between the Cheraw Braves and the Chesterfield Rams, featured cook-offs, dances, a cornhole tournament, kids’ games and plenty of team spirit.
Braves and Rams players attended the tailgate party along with their coaches and cheerleaders. The Greater Cheraw Chamber of Commerce and town of Cheraw presented the event.
Attendees brought home plaques and prizes for the best dessert, wings and ribs and the best-decorated tailgate.
