The town of Cheraw celebrated Independence Day with a patriotic children’s parade during the morning and evening festivities at Cheraw High School’s football stadium.

North Tower played beach music, and other “funky” sounds from the 1970s and 80s as people gathered in lawn chairs to relax and have a bite to eat. Not too many people ventured out in front of the band to dance, but plenty enjoyed watching Cheraw Town Councilman Billy Wallace Jr. lead the effort.

Rock climbing, a bounce house and a few other rides and activities were available for the children.

The finale of the celebration was a colorful fireworks display.
