Merle Brigman Hannah, of Rockingham, N.C., and John Thomas Grant Jr., of Hamlet, N.C., were married at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at the groom’s home in Hamlet.
The bride is the daughter of the late Luther and Hazel Brigman, of Rockingham.
Hannah is a graduate of Rohanen High School and McIntyre Beauty College and was employed at Merles Beauty Salon in Hamlet.
The groom is the son of the late John and Inez Grant. He is a graduate of Rockingham High School and was employed as a distributor for Flowers Foods.
The Rev. Roger Webster of Rockingham officiated the ceremony. The wedding music was directed by Kevin Parker. The bride walked in to the song “From This Moment” and the groom sung “Only God Could Love You More” to the bride during the ceremony.
The bride was given away in honor of her parents by Mr. and Mrs. George Staton. Tim Grant, son of the groom, and Monica Parker, granddaughter of the bride, helped in the lighting of the unity candle with the bride and groom during the wedding.
The bride wore a long off white chiffon-satin strapless dress with a lace overlay. Her bridal flowers were a mixture of autumn flowers.
The maid of honor was Monica Renee Parker of Hamlet, granddaughter of the bride, and Kimberly Ann Thorne of Concord, niece of the bride, served as a bridesmaid. Both ladies wore dresses in peach and black. Keslie Blanton oversaw the bridal registry. The best man for the ceremony was the Rev. Frank McQuage.
Guests to the wedding included out of town special friends of the bride Jerry and Frances Pruitt of Chesterfield, S.C.
The reception was given by the bride’s cousin John Bass and his wife Tammy of Wallace, S.C. It was held at the groom’s home with a pig picking.
Hannah and Grant made North Myrtle Beach their honeymoon location. The couple will make their home in Hamlet.
