Twenty-one-year-old Parker Millsap will perform at the Theatre on the Green on Friday, Sept. 19, in support of his self-titled debut album, to be released Feb. 4 via Thirty Tigers.
Millsap has been quickly making a name for himself with his live performances and original material.
His song “Truck Stop Gospel” was named one of NPR Music’s 50 Favorite Songs of 2014, with reviewers calling the track, “A story of faith and misguided redemption set to a diesel-engine-powered shuffle beat, this perfectly crafted preacherly rant highlights the precocious gifts of Americana’s 21-year-old new lion.”
Millsap is currently nominated for the Americana Music Association 2014’s Emerging Artist of the Year award.
Millsap recently opened dates for Patty Griffin, Old Crow Medicine Show, Shovels & Rope and Jason Isbell.
