Are you an artist without an audience? Here’s your chance.
Local visual artists are encouraged to share, sell, or demonstrate their work during the S.C. Jazz Festival on the Cheraw Town Green Saturday, Oct. 19, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.
While music fills the air, while chalk art participants are busy creating their masterpieces on the actual sidewalk, and as people disperse from the Be-Bop Parade, the atmosphere will be very condusive for selling a few pieces of art, said Linday Bennett, executive diretor for the Cheraw Arts Commission.
There will be no fees for the artist to set up a booth or table in the area. And no business license is necessary, said Bennett, as the artists will be marketing under the umbrella of the Cheraw Arts Commission.
“This is a very casual activity, similar to Art in the Park with artists creating art and selling,” said Bennett.
Participating artists will be responsible for supplying their own tables or chairs.
“All we need is to confirm that you are coming so we can prepare,” Bennett said.
For more information, or to register, contact Bennett at 843-537-8400, ext. 12.
As the festival begins next week, a complete list of activities, concerts and other events will be available in The Cheraw Chronicle to help plan your weekend.
