The 24th annual Chesterfield County Christmas Parade is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, on Main Street in Chesterfield.
The event is sponsored this year by Hospice of Chesterfield County, which is encouraging churches, businesses and other civic groups to enter homemade, lighted floats.
Grand prize for the best homemade float is $300. Second place will take home $200, and third $100. The grand prize winner also will receive a trophy to keep until next year’s parade.
“Other entries, other than floats, are welcome too,” said Cindy Beard, community relations/development coordinator.
Registration is required for participation by Dec. 4. For more information, and registration forms, call Beard at 843-623-5526.
