A Cheraw man is in custody after shots were fired Tuesday along Highway 9. No one was injured.
Marquise Williams, no address provided, was “picked up for possession of a stolen vehicle and failure to stop for a blue light,” said Sgt. Daniel Scott, public relations officer with the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff’s deputies made the arrest.
“We believe he may have been involved in the incident at Sonic,” said Scott.
The incident occurred within the city limits of Cheraw.
“Shots were fired in the area between Carolina Bank and Sonic around 5 p.m. Tuesday afternoon,” said Cheraw Police Detective Sgt. John James.
Scott said while deputies made the arrest, Williams was taken to the Cheraw Police Department for processing.
As the investigation is “on going,” James would not release anymore details about the incident except to say he was “scheduled to see the judge Wednesday morning.”
