Northeastern Technical College students preparing for careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields may be eligible for scholarships through a new grant announced this fall.

The $7,000 transfer scholarship grant, which NETC received from the Duke Energy Foundation and the Clemson University Center for Workforce Development (CUCWD), is part of an initiative to improve workforce development and educational capacity in STEM fields across South Carolina.

“This will provide a great opportunity for those who are interested in a STEM discipline to pursue the education and training that will lead to a great career,” said Dr. Ron Bartley, president of NETC. “We at NETC would like to thank the Duke Energy Foundation and Clemson University for making it possible for our students to get the assistance they need to go to college.”

For details about how to apply for STEM scholarship funds, contact NETC’s Financial Aid Office at 843-921-6939 or 800-921-7399. For information about the wide range of educational programs available at NETC, visit the college’s website at www.netc.edu.
