Cheraw’s downtown businesses will again open their doors to goblins, super heroes, and princess warriors for the annual Halloween Walk sponsored by the Cheraw Recreation and Leisure Services Department Wednesday, Oct. 30.
Each year area businesses are invited to offer trick or treat candy for the young people who venture through the sidewalks sporting their newest Halloween costumes. Local businesses not located in the downtown area are invited this year to set up a spot at Centennial Park, at the corner of Market and Second Streets, to distribute Halloween goodies.
The walk will begin at the Theatre on the Green at 3:45 p.m., covering a block in each direction from there, and end at 5 p.m.
All children must be accompanied by an adult and are encouraged to dress in costume. Lisa O’Neal, assistant director for the recreation department, said the children should bring their own bags or buckets for collecting candy.
