The town of Cheraw will celebrate Arbor Day Friday, Dec. 6, with a tree planting ceremony at Riverside Park on the bank of the Great Pee Dee River. The ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m.

Scott Landing, parks and grounds director for the Cheraw Parks, Recreation and Leisure Services, said a willow oak and a nuttal oak, will be planted; each in memory of local citizens who passed away this year.

One tree will be planted in memory of Buck Postlewait, and one in memory of George Cue.

The public is invited to attend.
