Charlotte television station WSOC—TV Channel 9 is sponsoring a program to collect school supplies for students in Chesterfield County.
On Saturday, Aug. 9, your mailbox becomes a simple way for residents to support students in this community. Through the support of the United Stated Postal Service, Channel 9 is asking viewers to place school supplies next to their mailbox before mail their is delivered Saturday. Postal workers will do the rest.
Channel 9 has held the school supply drive for 18 years. Serving more than 3 million children since 1997, this community initiative has raised more than $8 million worth of school supplies to date.
All supplies collected in Chesterfield County will remain in Chesterfield County. Other South Carolina counties included in the program are Chester, Lancaster and York.
