Chesterfield County residents will go to the polls again Tuesday, June 24, to determine which of the Democratic runoff candidates for sheriff will proceed to the November ballot to face Republican candidate Raymond Wright.

Last week’s primary placed James D. Dixon at the head of the pack with nearly 41 percent of the vote. The Tuesday runoff is between Dixon and Jay Brooks, who garnered 34 percent.

All polls will be open again, as usual, from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.

A small portion of Chesterfield County voters who reside in District 54 will also vote again in the S.C. House of Representatives race. Patricia “Pat” Henegan received 50 percent of the vote for that office, but 51 percent is required to win.

For more information about the election, or election results from the June 10 primary, visit the S.C. State Election Commission website at www.scvotes.org.
