Some of Cheraw’s youngest citizens enjoyed a walk to the Town Green for a morning of jazz music with Rakim McQueen, marking the opening of the South Carolina Jazz Festival in downtown Cheraw Oct. 17 - 20.

Students in the Head Start Program witnessed Cheraw Mayor Andy Ingram’s signature for a proclamation Thursday morning, following one of the opening concerts on the Town Green for the S.C. Jazz Festival. Ingram proclaimed Oct. 24, as a day to recognize the importance of early education and programs such as Head Start.
