Oh! Christmas Trees!

The Cheraw Arts Commission is presenting “Oh! Christmas Trees — Annual Festival of Trees” again this year. The organization is seeking sponsors to decorate trees that will be displayed at Centennial Park in downtown Cheraw during the holiday season from Dec. 1 through Jan. 1. Particpants will be decorating the trees during the afternoon of Saturday, Dec. 1, in conjunction with the Town of Cheraw’s ChristmasFest event.

Sponsors can include businesses, organizations, families, groups, churches, schools, and individuals. Sponsors can elect to decorate the trees themselves or sponsor a tree to be decorated by another group. Co-Sponsoring a tree is an additional option. Several families or businesses, groups, etc. can share the expense and decorate a tree together. The cost of the trees is $35 which includes set-up and disposal. Each tree will feature signage with sponsor information.

Contact the Cheraw Arts Commission at 537-8420, ext. 12, by Nov. 26 to sponsor a tree. The Cheraw Arts Commission is also encouraging residents to light up Cheraw by turning on porch lights, decorating trees or outdoor yard objects with white lights during the holidays.

The Cheraw Arts Commission is supported by the South Carolina Arts Commission which receives funding from the National Endowment for the Arts. The Cheraw Arts Commission is also upported by the United Way of Chesterfield County.
