The Cheraw Arts Commission is seeking teams to participate in the annual SC Jazz Festival Sidewalk Chalk Competition on Saturday, Oct. 20. “Madonnari-Southern Style” will once again be a featured event during the festival.

This sidewalk chalk competition is based on the Italian art form called “Madonnari” or Italian Street Painting. Teams of at least four people can create masterpieces on the sidewalk at the Theatre on the Green, and can consist of families, friends, organizations, schools, churches, and businesses. Prizes will be awarded to the winning teams.

For information and team registration, contact the Cheraw Arts Commission at 843-537-8420, ext. 12.

The Cheraw Arts Commission is supported by the United Way of Chesterfield County and the SC Arts Commission, which receives funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
