BENNETTSVILLE – The Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office is seeking assistance with the investigation of three recent home invasions that have occurred in the Clio area of Marlboro County.

“In the past month, we have responded to three separate incidents that are relatively close together. They are all in the Hwy. 381 and Laurin Willis Road area of Marlboro County,” said Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Jamie Seales. “The victims reported that the actions of the suspects are similar in nature but our investigation has not confirmed that the suspects are the same or that the crimes are related. The victims also reported that masked suspects came into their homes, tied them up, demanded money and in one occurrence, stole some electronics and a vehicle, which was later recovered. They also reported that the suspects have been armed with handguns and long guns, pertaining to each case. We take these crimes very seriously at the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office and are working diligently to bring the suspects to justice quickly,” said Seales.

He also said that the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office is working closely with the Dillon County Sheriff’s Office and the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office as well as the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) in the investigation.

“Dillon and Robeson Counties are so close to the area that we feel their assistance will be beneficial. The crimes that these suspects have allegedly committed could possibly carry a life sentence if convicted. We are asking that if anyone has any information on this investigation, to call the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office at 843-479-5605 and ask to speak to an investigator. The information provided will be kept confidential and a reward is being offered for information leading to the arrests and convictions of these suspects,” stressed Seales.
