CHESTERFIELD – Several churches in Chesterfield County are pulling together to hold another ‘Chesterfield County for Jesus’ rally this Sunday, Nov. 29 at 3 p.m. on the Chesterfield County Courthouse grounds located on Main Street.

Maranatha Family Worship Center, Word of Life, Cheraw Family Worship, Charity Community Church and numerous other local churches are also participating in this unique rally that is geared to draw the communities together.

According to Pastor Allen Usher of Maranatha Family Worship Center, the cross, which represents Jesus Christ along with the American and Christian flags, will be carried in the walk from Chesterfield Baptist Church to the Courthouse, beginning at 2:45 p.m.

“The first rally in Cheraw was a tremendous success with a great crowd of Christians praying and making a commitment to the Lord to bless our county with jobs and unity. The presence of God was very real and Christians were really excited about spreading God’s Word to others,” said Usher. “All pastors, elected officials and others are asked to spread the good news of Christ and are encouraged to invite others to join us. We need a healing in our country, our state and in Chesterfield County, desperately,” he continued.

Usher said that other counties have also requested the ‘Chesterfield County for Jesus’ team to come and gather for a rally in their areas.

“We believe in what we are trying to do for Christ will reach out to others who may not know the Lord. It is not for show. It is just for God. We are in the process of making a new CD with the songs and prayers that we are using in these rallies. The CD’s will be given away free of charge to those who request it. It will serve as a reminder to always pray for our county. We are pulling people together to reach out to a lost world for Christ. The way the world is now with all of the crime and fighting in other countries, we are the last hope our children and future generations have, to come to know the Lord,” stressed Usher.

Usher said that during the last rally, which was held on Nov. 8, around 250-300 people participated. “We are very blessed here in Chesterfield,” he concluded. In the event bad weather, Chesterfield Baptist Church will be the location for the event.
