Clara Douglas Cranford, 88, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10 at Patrick Baptist Church.

Interment will follow in the Patrick Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Chesterfield.

Cranford was born Aug. 30, 1924, in Chesterfield County, a daughter of the late James Valley and Ella Mae Winburn Douglas. She was a graduate of McBee High School, and was a former merchant and Patrick Town Judge. Cranford retired from the U.S. Postal Service with 40 years of service. She was a faithful member of Patrick Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Clara was also preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Cranford.

Survivors include, three sons, Bobby (Brenda) Cranford of Sevierville, Tenn., Johnny (Rosie) Cranford of Surfside Beach, and Ricky Cranford of Patrick, two daughters, Ann (Buck) O’Neal of Patrick, and Gale (Ronnie) Parks of Peyton, Colo., 17 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, one brother, Bobby (Barbara) Douglas of Pensacola, Fla., one sister, Louise (Donald) Mangum of Denver, N.C.
