SOCIETY HILL - Mayor Valencia S. Brewington and Town Council members can now move forward with the town's business after filling two vacant council seats.

Cameron Michael and Tommy Bradshaw were elected in a June 8 special election. The two were sworn in at the town's July 14 council meeting.

Tommy Bradshaw garnered the most votes of any of the four candidates with 148. Michael finished with 87 votes. Candidates Robert Hancock had 53 votes and Robbie Burns had 33.

The two seats became vacant after Valencia S. Brewington vacated her seat after being elected as mayor and Councilman Les Baker stepped down.

Bradshaw and Michael are both excited about their new roles.

Michael said he has a vision for the town. He says that he wants to take "The Hill" to new levels.

"I am really looking forward to working with all of the council members and the mayor," said Michael. " I especially am excited about the recreation project for the young people."

Michael will also serve as Mayor Pro Tem.

"I saw that the town needed help and I felt like I could make a difference, so I decided to run," said Bradshaw.
