Little girls dream of dressing up and wearing crowns and become a queen. A local 5-year-old girl, Brooklyn Short of Ruby, has this dream coming true.

Back in October of 2012 Brooklyn competed in the Florence County Pageant in Florence. Brooklyn was crowned Wee Miss Florence 2013 and now is on the road to Little Miss and Teen Miss South Carolina this coming June in Hartsville, South Carolina.

Brooklyn is the daughter of Tamila Short, and granddaughter of Myrtle and Jimmy Short, and sister of Cameron Short.

Brooklyn attends Ruby Elementary School. She also attends Brenda Crawford School of Dance in Hartsville. “Brooklyn is an outgoing child and loves giving back to her community. She has helped out with Cooks for Christ and gave back to her local churches during the Christmas season,” said Tamila. She has collected teddy bears and is planning to give them to the local nursing home this February.

Brooklyn needs and would love all the support of all the local and surrounding community. If you would like to send a supporting donation for Brooklyn, send it to: Brooklyn Short, 1007 Woodward Mill Road, Ruby SC 29741.

“Thank you all, and we hope she will bring the Wee Miss South Carolina Crown home to Chesterfield County,” said Tamila.
