It’s time for all local artists, young and old, amateur and professional, to dust off the paint bushes and get ready for the annual Fine Arts Show at the Cheraw Community Center. The annual competition is a standard feature of the Cheraw Spring Festival each year and will hang in the Mary G. Burr Gallery for the month of April.
The competition is open to all Chesterfield County residents or students of Chesterfield County instructors. The deadline, or drop off dates, for entries are March 21 and 22, at the Cheraw Community Center. No works will be accepted after 5 p.m. Friday, Mar. 22.
Entry forms, along with a list of rules and regulations, are available at the Cheraw Community Center through the Cheraw Arts Commission.
Including the frame, works can be no larger than 30” x 40.” All work must be suitable for hanging, however, student art may be attached to foam or mat board.
“We will hang with Velcro,” said Lindsay Bennett, executive director for the Cheraw Arts Commission.
Categories include photography, fine crafts and visual arts.
