Hattie Mae Rhynes Easterling, 87, died Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at her home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 8, at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, McFarlan, N.C. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 7, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Chesterfield.
Easterling was born Jan. 22, 1925, in Anson County, N.C. a daughter of the late Willie Clayton “Bud” and Jamie Moore Lowery. She was a graduate of McFarlan School and was a retired employee of Mar Mac Company and a homemaker. Easterling was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Hattie Mae was also preceded in death by her husbands, Jake Rhynes and Jim Easterling, a son, David “Pee Wee” Rhynes, a daughter, Doris R. Patterson, two grandsons, Curtis Nelson, Jr. and Gerald W. “Pistol” Rhynes, three brothers, Larry, James S. and W. Clayton Lowery, and by two sisters, Doris L. Gaddy and Dorothy Lowery.
She is survived by, three sons, Robert Rhynes of Chesterfield, Gerald W. Rhynes and Roger D. (Tammy) Rhynes both of Cheraw, four daughters, Becky R. (Curtis) Nelson of McFarlan, N.C., Kathryn R. Graham of Chesterfield, Sarah R. (David) Brock of Cheraw, and Debbie R. Holloway of Chesterfield, one sister-in-law, Josephine Lowery Ratliff of McFarlan, N.C., also, 19 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and six great, great grandchildren.
