Hazel Huntley Adden, 92, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012.

A funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 21, at Chesterfield Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the Chesterfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 21, prior to the service in the Church Parlor.

Adden was born January 1, 1920, in Aynor, a daughter of the late Jerry and Bertha Mae Rogers Allen. She was a graduate of Columbia College and was a retired educator. Adden was a classroom teacher and district staff member, and retired from the Chesterfield County School District after 39 years of service. She was a member of Chesterfield Baptist Church, and enjoyed playing bridge. In addition to her parents, Adden was also preceded in death by her first husband, Harry H. Huntley; a brother, Jimmie Allen; and by sisters, Burch Purtell and Marguerite Tomlin.

She is survived by a husband, William L. “Bill” Adden of the home, one son, David (Amy) Huntley of Chesterfield, four stepdaughters, Dana Ball, Marcia (Marion) Parker, Amy (Steve) Shanks all of Montgomery, Ala., and Terry (William) Renwick of Sumter, two grandchildren, two brothers, Rodgers Allen of Las Vegas, Nev., and Jerry (Libby) Allen of Manteo, N. C., sister-in-law, Jean Allen of Fayetteville, Ga., brother-in-law, Jimmy Purtell of Pinconning, Mich.
