A public hearing is scheduled to consider an option for property owners to pay property taxes in installments.
The Chesterfield County Council will hold the hearing beginning at 9 a.m. on Feb. 6, in the multi-purpose building located at 200 W. Main St., Chesterfield.
The purpose of this public hearing is to receive comments on the proposed ordinance entitled “An ordinance to allow each taxpayer owning a parcel of taxable real property within the county the option to pay property taxes in installments as provided in South Carolina code section 12-45-75 … .”
Any person wishing to comment in favor of or in opposition to this proposed ordinance is encouraged to attend this public hearing. The proposed ordinance can be reviewed at the county council office located upstairs in the Chesterfield County Courthouse, 200 W. Main St., between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
