Sarah Lisenby was elected to the Hospice of Chesterfield County Board of Directors at the agency’s Annual Meeting on June 25.
Lisenby resides in Chesterfield with her husband, Jim Barber, and grandson, William Clark, III. She also has one daughter, Yulonda, and grandsons, Joshua and Jordan.
She holds a B.S. degree in Political Science from Howard University and retired after 27 years of service in the Federal Government. She worked in the Clinton administration as Chief of Staff in the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education at the U.S. Department of Education, in the Carter administration for the Office of Personnel Management and in the Kennedy administration’s Office of Youth Opportunities in the office of Engineers, Research and Development.
From 1979-1993 she managed the day-to-day operations of the office of Congressman Howard Wolpe (D-MI) and Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa. Lisenby also taught math and life skills at T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, VA. For 13 years she served as volunteer coordinator in support of the Congressional Black Caucus Annual Meeting. She is a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church where she serves as President of the Women’s Club. She is a board member of the Chesterfield Family YMCA and the AMI Kids Sandhills and Marlboro, and a member of the Forest Dale Eastern Star, Chesterfield Service Club and Red Hats Smiling Faces.
Phillip Caulder of Chesterfield was re-elected to serve as Board President at the Annual Meeting. Bob Rollings of Jefferson and Reid McBride of Cheraw were also re-elected to serve as Vice-President and Secretary/Treasurer, respectively.
Also serving on the Board are Marion Anderson of Cheraw, Jerry Holley of McBee, Steve Jackson of Pageland, Fran Lewis of Bennettsville, Cathey McLain of Wallace, Rev. James Redfearn of Cheraw, and Ogden Sutton of Pageland.
