Dear Editor,
My deceased husband, Glenn Presnell, and several family members have been cared for by Hospice of Chesterfield County when they were dying, and I am very thankful for the care and support given to them and to me. The Hospice team checked on me, prayed with me and offered to help anyway they could. After their deaths, I realized that I wanted to help those who were going through what I had experienced so I became a volunteer with Hospice of Chesterfield County.
I have received volunteer training that has helped me before I visited my first hospice patient and family, and I feel that I am making a difference in their lives by letting them know they are not alone and others do care. I have met wonderful families, and I have been blessed to hear fascinating stories and make special friends during a difficult time.
November is National Hospice and Palliative Care Month. If you or your love one needs more information on Hospice care, I hope you will call Hospice of Chesterfield County.
Sincerely,
Lisa B. Deaver
