SOCIETY HILL — James Frank Edwards, age 78, died at his home Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, after an illness.

Funeral services were held Oct. 23 at Edwards Chapel, with burial in the church cemetery directed by Belk Funeral Home of Darlington.

Born in Chesterfield County, Edwards was the son of the late George Edward and Katherine Freeman Edwards. He was married to the late Edell B. Edwards. He had worked with Klopman Mills, the Town of Society Hill and was a member of Edwards Chapel. He enjoyed his yard especially growing his confederate roses and trumpet lilies.

Surviving are his son: Curt (Mendy) Edwards of Bellbuckle, Texas; two daughters: Wanda (Steve) Hoffman of Lake Jackson, Texas, and Rhonda (Marty) Parker of Cheraw; his grandchildren: Lisa, Kelly, Brad, Dena, Seth, Colten and Cameron and seven great-grandchildren; also his sister, Inez Walters of Darlington.

Edwards was preceded in death by his brothers: John Edwards, Bobby Edwards, Charlie Edwards and Thomas Edwards.
