The music will be hot, but the theater will not, say organizers of the Jazzin in July concert to be presented Saturday, July 14, at the Theatre on the Green. Proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Mercy in Me Free Medical Clinic.

Tickets are $20, and are available in advance from the Greater Cheraw Chamber of Commerce, the Pageland Chamber of Commerce, or at the door. The money from the ticket sales will be used for services provided at the clinic on Foundry Hill Road in Cheraw.

A New Creation will be performing from 6 to 7 p.m. The program will be followed with a light reception for guests, including passed hors d’oeuvres.

The event has been organized by Cheraw High School’s French teacher and music lover, Delandris Jones, and Wendy Woods, who works with student services at Northeastern Technical College.

Woods said that working on this concert has given her an opportunity “to give back” to the community. It’s an opportunity, she said, to help with financial support for the services that are given to those in need at Mercy in Me through the work of volunteers.

Mercy in Me was founded in 2009 and is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit, tax exempt corporation. The clinic offers free health care to qualified uninsured adult residents of Chesterfield County. To donate to the organization, or to find guidelines for qualification, contact the office at 843-537-5288, email them at mercyinmefreeclinic@gmail.com, or go online to www.MercyInMe.org.

For more ticket information call the Greater Cheraw Chamber of Commerce at 843-537-7681.
