Northeastern Technical College alumna Ethel Wynn of Chesterfield recently attended the Accounting Scholars Leadership Workshop in Raleigh, N.C.

Sponsored by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, this workshop is an annual invitational program for minority accounting students who plan to pursue the CPA designation.

Wynn graduated from NETC in 2009 with an associate degree in accounting. She received a bachelor’s degree in accounting May 14 from Gardner-Webb University and is currently pursuing a master’s of accounting from Gardner-Webb. She also recently graduated from the Rural Leadership Institute at Francis Marion University.

Wynn was among 80 students invited to the accounting scholars workshop. Presenters at the workshop included accountants from some of the largest accounting firms in the nation, including PricewaterhouseCoopers, McGladrey and Pullen, and TCBA Watson Rice.

Wynn provides tax and accounting services out of her home and also serves as the town clerk for Patrick.
