The American Red Cross, in conjunction with Florence County Emergency Management, are operating three cooling stations in the Florence County area where approximately 7,500 residents were without power.

The stations are located at the Pentecostal Holiness Church, 608 S. Ron McNair Blvd. in Lake City, Wilson High School, 1411 E. Old Marion Highway in Florence, and the Windy Hill Fire Station, 5610 E. Palmetto St. in Florence.

The cooling stations will provide relief from the heat for local residents and will be open from 12 to 8 p.m. each day until power has been restored. Water and a snack will be provided.

You can help your neighbors recover from disasters by making a financial contribution to the American Red Cross today by visiting www.columbiaregionredcross.org or by calling 843-662-8121. Donations may also be mailed to the American Red Cross, 1601A W. Lucas Street, Florence, S.C., 29501.
