These are some scenes of the recent Beach Blast held in downtown Cheraw at the old Belk lot over the Labor Day weekend. Shoppers stopped by for a dance or two, and children played in the sand brought in especially for the occasion. The event was sponsored by the Merchants and Professional Society (MAPS) and radio station WCRE which provided the beach music and broadcast live from the area. This was published in The Cheraw Chronicle Sept. 29, 1988.
