As we settle down into the new school year, I want to thank the students, parents, teachers, and community of Central High School for a near flawless start. This year’s opening of school has been among the best that I have seen in my nine years of being a principal in two different states.
Our students came prepared to learn and were focused on their education from the moment they walked in the doors at Central, thanks to the encouragement and guidance of their parents and families. Our teachers came in with a renewed sense of purpose, which was reflected in how well prepared each of them was to begin the year off successfully.
Our Central High community, too, has shown an eagerness to support all facets of our educational endeavors. A school cannot thrive without the support of the community at large; accordingly, our wonderful start to the school year has come, in part, because our community has shown that they value education and the task for which we are charged — educating the children of the Pageland-Jefferson area.
Again, I want to thank everyone involved for helping Central High School get off on the right foot this year and I am personally excited about the prospects for the rest of the year. I invite members of our community to visit our school to see the education of our children in process. I know that you will be impressed by our students, but more importantly, our students will be impressed that you care about them and their efforts.
