The general public is invited to attend an informational meeting of the expansion of the Habitat for Humanity program on Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 12 noon at the Pageland, SC Community Center. Lunch will be served and information will be distributed as to the Habitat program starting in the Chesterfield County, SC area.

Union County Habitat for Humanity has received approval from Habitat for Humanity, International to expand our service area to include all of Chesterfield County, SC as of October, 2009. In July of 2009 a concerned group of individuals from all walks of life in Chesterfield County approached Union County Habitat for Humanity with a vision of establishing an affordable housing program in their local community. Union County Habitat for Humanity will assist in the development of a Habitat affiliate in Chesterfield County, SC over the next 3-5 years. Plans include the construction of new Habitat homes as early as the spring of 2010.
