Joe Rayfield, 66, died Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at his home.
Funeral service will be held 3 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 27, at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow in the David’s Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors.
Visitation is from 2 to 3 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
Rayfield was born Sept. 2, 1946, in Chesterfield, a son of the late James Pruitte Rayfield and Rosa Mae Vaughn Rayfield. Joe graduated from Chesterfield High School, served in the U.S. Army, and was a former employee of Sonoco Products Company in Hartsville. He loved to hunt, fish and going to football games. In addition to his parents, Joe was also preceded in death by brothers, James Murray Rayfield and wife Jeri; Jadie C. Rayfield and wife Nona; and one sister, Evelena Rayfield.
Survivors include three daughters, Melissa R. Jordan of Cheraw, Jo Evelyn Coble of Myrtle Beach, and Tina Meachum of Wadesboro, N.C., two brothers, Gerald P. Rayfield of Patrick, and Charles B. Rayfield Cheraw, three sisters: Margie R. Gaskins of Chesterfield, Bonnie R. Rollins of Ruby, and Rose Etta Schumacher of Chesterfield, five grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
