The On Stage Theatre Group and the Cheraw Arts Commission are planning two events, both free to the public, to honor United States veterans.
The first event is scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 1, at Centennial Park. The Veteran’s Day Musical Tribute at Calvary Baptist Church, the following week, Thursday, Nov. 8, will begin at 7:30 p.m.
The events are being directed by Pat Smith, with rehearsals at First Presbyterian Church. Barbara Dickson is the musical director.
The evening will feature patriotic music and dialogue by community performers.
According to Cheraw Arts Commission Executive Director Lindsay Bennett, Smith “really puts a lot of energy into this project.” It should be an enjoyable event for the whole family, said Bennett.
