The Taste of Cheraw has been one of Cheraw’s signature events since 1994. “Each year it gets bigger and better; this year will be no exception,” said Phil Powell, executive director for the Chamber. This year’s event is scheduled for Thursday, April 25, and tickets are limited.
“The Taste” is sponsored by the Greater Cheraw Chamber of Commerce, as well as businesses and industries in the area, and is greatly anticipated by the community at large, said Powell. It is an opportunity to highlight all that is the ‘best of Cheraw’, our food, our people and our historic town.
Again this year, 143 McIver Street, home of Craig and Anna Baker Watson, will be the site for the event. The Taste committee promises to continue the tradition of gourmet foods from the grill. Those include, but are not limited to, lamb chops, beef tenderloin, and barbecue pork. There also will be shrimp and grits, assorted desserts, fine cheeses, Sushi, Bananas Foster, frog Legs, crab stuffed deep fried shrimp, bacon wrapped Quail, chicken drummettes and much, much more.
The Greater Cheraw Chamber of Commerce hosts the event to welcome guests into an environment that is elegant and celebratory. It is an adult celebration. All tickets holders must be at least 21 years of age. The event is ‘black tie optional’ formal dress, which means gentleman must wear coat and ties.
Organizers of the event say the night will include a magical blend of wonderful food, drinks and music by The Fantastic Shakers in a picturesque setting. Make your plans to enjoy “The Taste” today.
Tickets are now available for Chamber members at $45 each; non-members $50. Call the Chamber today at 843-537-7681.
