Mr. John Pendleton Croom, Sr., 89, of Fayetteville died Sunday, June 16, 2013, at Duke Medical Center in Durham.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 20, 2013, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, a private burial will be held at Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street. A celebration of John’s life will be held the same day at 2:00pm in Trinity Baptist Church.

Survived by his wife of 68 years, Lois Tew Croom of the home, 3 sons, John, Jr., Samuel, & John Paul, a daughter, Barbara Ellen Croom Jennings, a brother, Joseph, a sister, Phyllis Steele, 7 grandchildren & 11 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund 433 Southland Dr, Fayetteville, NC 28311.
