CHERAW — First United Methodist Church, Cheraw, will offer a Blue Christmas Service Wednesday December 15 at 6:30 p.m. Through scripture, preaching and candle lighting the service will offer hope, comfort and renewal at a time of the year that is not joyous for everyone.

“Many people have trouble getting into the Christmas Spirit,” said Rev. Paul Wood. “Heartache can be more painful at Christmas time. Recent losses are felt more poignantly, and chronic illness can also make it hard to feel joy or hope.” Pastor Wood said the service will acknowledge things that can make Christmas a “blue time.” The time of worship will offer reminders of God’s constant love.

Rev. Wood and the congregation welcome the entire community for this special service. The church is located at 117 Third Street in Cheraw.
