CHERAW — A man claims his girlfriend is bi-polar after getting into a brawl over strange women from the club texting him.

Even the girlfriend's mother agreed there were problems in the relationship, county law enforcement said.

Chesterfield County deputies charged an intoxicated Barbara Bright McRae, 22, of 1865 W. Market St., Cheraw, with criminal domestic violence when she reportedly was attacking her boyfriend in the driveway around 6 a.m. Jan. 3.

Deputies at the scene separated McRae and her boyfriend who sustained cuts to his forehead. The fight started over text messages McRae’s boyfriend received from other women since their outing at a club hours earlier.

McRae’s boyfriend told deputies his girlfriend is bi-polar she often became jealous when other women contacted him.

McRae’s mother told deputies there was often strife in her daughter's relationship.

Deputies reported both McRae and boyfriend agreed they could use couple's therapy.
