Town officials proposed a new ordinance requiring pet owners to clean up after their animals on public property and private property owned by others.
Chesterfield Town Council will discuss the agenda item during a meeting 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in town hall.
According to the proposed ordinance, pet owners would be required to pick up feces utilizing a plastic bag or "other suitable container" and disposing of the excrement.
