CHESTERFIELD - Mr. John D. “Johnny” Allen, Jr., 65, died Feb.19, 2011.

Funeral services were held Feb. 22 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Mt. Croghan Memorial Park. Visitation was held Feb. 21 at the funeral home.

Mr. Allen was born November 18, 1945, in Mt. Croghan, S.C., son of the late John Daniel and Beatrice Sullivan Allen. He was a carpenter and a U. S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Allen was a member of Living Word Ministries. Johnny enjoyed wood working, fishing, growing vegetables, and playing his guitar. In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Ray Allen.

Johnny is survived by wife, Doris Baskins Allen of the home; sons, Dan (Jodie) Allen, Carney (Carla) Allen, Brad (Amber) Allen, and Randy (Penny) Kerns all of Chesterfield; sister Emma Jean (Robert) Haselden of Conway; also 11 grandchildren.
