Four Cheraw Chamber members, Joe Witherspoon, retired Banker; Robert Calhoun, retired Manufacturing Manager; Lane Brown, retired Tax Litigator; and Mary Beth Freeman, retired Human Resource Manager, will offer their expertise and have agreed to share their knowledge and experience with entrepreneurs and mentor small business people by becoming SCORE volunteers. In business surrounding oneself with a good team is an important element of success. Expert advisers can steer a person toward making good business decisions and avoiding pitfalls. Originally known as the Service Corps Of Retired Executives, SCORE is America’s premier source of free and confidential small business advice for entrepreneurs. Volunteers now offer advice, in person, in Cheraw.

The Greater Cheraw Chamber of Commerce shares SCORE’s vision: to strengthen small businesses, local communities and America by supporting our nation’s entrepreneurs seeking opportunities and building success. The Cheraw Branch of SCORE will offer many free services. More information is available online at www.SCORE.org or by calling the Chamber office at 843-537-7681.

Those interested in meeting with Cheraw’s SCORE volunteers may call the Chamber office and a staff member will schedule an appointment.
