Funeral services were held March 9 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home Chapel with internment following in the Bethesda United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family held visitation at the funeral home March 8.
Purvis, born Halloween 1936 in Chesterfield, was a son of the late Sidney Purvis and Ruth Williams Caulder. He was a retired mechanic with A.O. Smith Water Heaters with over 35 years of service and a U.S. Army Veteran.
He was preceded in death by parents, brother David Ray Caulder and sister Brenda Fincher.
Surviving are sons Anthony Purvis, of Cheraw, and Ervin (Lynette) Purvis, currently stationed in Germany via U.S. Army; daughters Renee Purvis (Robert) Hatcher, of Cheraw, and Christine Purvis (Scott) Ludlow, of Cheraw; sister Betty Gainey, of Hartsville; mother of children Tina St. Pierre, of Cheraw; grandchildren Katie Brooke Purvis, Mason Purvis, Jaylen Purvis, Caitlyn Purvis, Nicholas Ludlow and Garrett Ludlow
Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home served the Purvis Family.
