PAGELAND — Mrs. Inez Baker Grant, 78, died Dec. 24, 2008.

Funeral services were Dec. 28 at 2 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church, Pageland.

Burial was held in the church cemetery.

Inez Baker Grant, daughter of the late Hayne and Marcella Baker, born March 4, 1930.

Inez attended Shannon Public School in Jefferson and at an early age moved to New York City, New York where she was employed as a private duty nurse. She met and married James Grant who preceded her in death.

Inez later relocated to Pageland, where she attended Salem United Methodist Church. She was also preceded in death by a son, Tony Baker, Sr.

Surviving are three grandchildren, Tony Baker, Jr. (Cindy), Pamela Baker-O’Rear and Donna Baker-Ratchford (Santario); four great grandchildren, Tony Baker, III, La’Naeschia O’Rear, Lavoirzea O’Rear and Zahmeen Ratchford, all of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Wilhmenia Blackwell (Charles) and Brenda McCaskill (Lee Roy) both of Pageland; two brothers, Santee Baker (Mary), Charlotte, N.C. and James Baker, Pageland; and other relatives and friends.

Flemming Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
