Flora Lee Mills
RUBY — Flora Lee Mills, 82, died Sunday, June 19, 2011.
Funeral services were held June 22 at Cross Roads Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Visitation was held June 21 at Miller-Rivers-Caulder Funeral Home, Chesterfield.
Mrs. Mills was born August 2, 1928, in Ruby, a daughter of the late George and Martha Gulledge Rushing. She was a faithful lifelong member of Cross Roads Baptist Church. Flora Lee was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a loving and caring babysitter to numerous children through the years. Flora Lee was married to the late Curtis Lee Mills and was also preceded in death by her 3 brothers, Floyd, J.D., and Dewey Rushing; and 1 sister, Dorothy Pittman.
Flora is survived by a son, Tommy Lynn (Myra) Mills of McBee; daughter, Patricia Ann Mills of Ruby; 3 grandchildren: Jason (Becky) Davis of Kershaw, Danny (Darlene) Brown of Patrick, and Becky (Neil) Powell of Kingstree; 7 great grandchildren: Amberlee, Kaileigh, Dakota, Logan, Lilly, Collin, and Hayden; sisters, Othea Lee Thomas of Kannapolis, N.C. and Betty Lou Rushing of Florida; also her extended family whom she helped to raise: Randall, Gabe, and Rev. Chad Watson, Chris Black, Tammy Nicholson, Jessie Oliver, Carrie Foote, Ken and Scott Johnson, and Neil Sellers.
