CHERAW— The Town of Cheraw will host their annual Independence Celebration as part of the Cheraw Alive! Summer Series. Events for the day are located in historic downtown Cheraw, with a Children’s Bikes, Trikes and Wagon Parade beginning at 10:30 a.m.
As evening approaches the downtown will come alive with the Big Sam Band party featuring live music, games, food and fireworks display. Fireworks will begin at night fall, also featured that evening is the Texaco County Showdown on Second Street.
Saturday, July 2
RUBY — The Annual Ruby Fourth of July Celebration will be held on the grounds of Ruby Elementary School. The events lasting all day include live entertainment, a parade, concessions and fireworks display.
Events for the day include: A bake sale and a hot dog and hamburger fundraiser beginning at 11 a.m. at the Ruby Community Center. Local band Bound by Him will perform for the crowd, and the annual parade will being at 6:30 p.m.
The Fireworks display will take place at night fall around 9 p.m. The town has will re-schedule the event if rained out to Sunday, July 3.
WALLACE — The Third Annual All American event will take place at the Wallace Ball Field located on Old Wire Road in Wallace. The event, from 5 to 9 p.m. will feature events and games for the kids. Moon bounce, slides and obstacles will entertain both kids and adults. All day tickets for rides can be purchased.
There will also be live entertainment and fun for the family. Food and drinks will be sold, no personal coolers are allowed. Events for the day include: Wallace Amateurs Show at 6 p.m.; Mr. Bold and Beautiful Contest at 7 p.m.; Raffle Drawing at 7:30 p.m.; Watermelon Eating Contest at 8 p.m.; Mr. and Mrs. Firecracker for ages 10 and under and Joust Competition for ages 11 and up at 8:30 p.m.
Fireworks display at 9 p.m. Taking $1 donations for ages 5 and up, 4 and under are free.
Monday, July 4
CHESTERFIELD — The Chesterfield Arts Commission will hold the inaugural Chesterfield USA Fun Fourth. The event held on Main Street is free to the public from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The family event will bring together various groups to host games and concessions. The events for the day include: 4 p.m. Children’s Patriotic Parade followed by the Pet Parade with prizes awarded in various categories. From 3 p.m to 6 p.m. various games and activities with prizes including a family scavenger hunt hosted by Hospice of Chesterfield County, Sidewalk Chalk drawing, game show, cake walk, concessions and sales.
Around 5 p.m. the Chesterfield Fire Department will spray the downtown area with water from a fire truck.
There will be a Youth Open Mic event from 5-7 p.m. and the evening will wrap up with live music and a free concert featuring Bandanna starting at 8 p.m.
HAMLET— The Annual Hamlet Fourth of July Celebration will be held on Main Street. The event beginning at 5 p.m. will feature live entertainment, clowns, music and more.
The City of Hamlet and the Hamlet Business Development Association will sponsor live music by band - Ponder Blue, and there will be inflatable bouncers, dunking booth fun, games, and vendors selling food and drinks.
The Annual July 4th Fireworks Display begins right after dusk. The fireworks will be released from the Hamlet Fairgrounds. Spectators may find good viewing locations in many areas of Hamlet, some including the City Lake area, Main Street, Hamlet Avenue and Front Street.
HARTSVILLE — Hartsville’s July 4th Family Fireworks Festival will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1001 North Marquis Highway, just north of Hartsville, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with fireworks at dusk.
Enjoy performances by local music groups, dance groups and a patriotic tribute, as well as amusements, such as pony rides, inflatable games, midway games (like a bean bag toss) plus hot dog and pie eating contests.
Merchandise and food vendors will fill the courtyard. You can be sure there will be plenty of good food. Bring lawn chairs and blankets to relax, but no coolers or alcohol, please.
