Tonya Annette Hardison of Bennettsville received a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Science and Business, and Child Development from South Carolina State University during the commencement ceremony held Dec. 11.
South Carolina State University, a higher institute for education that is historically Black, held its Fall Commencement at the Smith Hammond Middleton Memorial Center in Orangeburg.
Tonya is currently a teacher at the Whittaker head start center in Little Rock, working under the Pee Dee Community Action Partnership.
She is the daughter of Mildred Lee Allen of Wallace and Willie James Hardison of Cheraw and also a member of the New Beaver Dam Baptist Church in Wallace and resides in S.C. Family and friends attended the commencement ceremony to to celebrate and support Hardison in her achievement.
