Staff Report

The S.C. Jazz Festival will be held in Cheraw on the weekend of October 14-16. On Saturday, Oct. 15, the SC Jazz Festival Fine Arts and Crafts Exhibit will be held in downtown Cheraw from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This will be the fourth year for the Fine Arts and Crafts Exhibit with artists demonstrating and selling their work at this outdoor event. Artists will be assigned a site to be determined by the festival committee.

Artists have an option to either demonstrate in their chosen medium or sell their art. Those artists interested in selling their art will be required to pay a fee of $40 which includes a Town of Cheraw license. Entry forms and applications will be available at the Cheraw Community Center at 200 Powe St.

Artwork must be original and created by the artist. Interested artists will be required to submit samples of work for entry into the exhibit. The deadline to submit samples is Sept. 30. For additional information contact the Cheraw Arts Commission at (843) 537-8420, ext. 12.

This Fine Arts and Crafts Exhibit is an annual event presented by the SC Jazz Festival and the Cheraw Arts Commission. Visit www.scjazzfestival.com for additional festival activities.

The Cheraw Arts Commission is supported by the SC Arts Commission, which receives funding from the National Endowment for the Arts and the United Way of Chesterfield County.
