Clarissa Latonya Gaskins
RUBY — Clarissa Latonya Gaskins, 29, died Oct. 19, 2011.
Funeral services were held Oct. 24 at Mt. Elon United Methodist Church, Jefferson.
Clarissa Latonya Gaskins was born and raised in Chesterfield County to Mrs. Linda G. Burch and Otis Clyburn. She was a member of Angelus Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church and recently under the watch care at Rocky Branch Church in Kershaw County. She attended the Chesterfield County School District and graduated in 2001 from Central High School, Pageland. She also attended Northeastern Technical College and studied Early Childhood development, having a passion for children.
Clarissa was preceded in death by her grandfathers, James H. Gaskins and Arnold Lee Clyburn; grandmother, Lydia Clyburn; aunt, Charlene Gaskins; uncle, Anthony “Clyburn; sister, Bellany Clyburn.
Clarissa is survived by mother and step-father, Linda G. (George) Burch of Ruby, father, Otis Clyburn of Pageland; brother, Quentin K. Gaskins of Jefferson, grandmother, Frances Mae Gaskins; aunts, Brenda G. King of Jefferson, Patsy Gaskins of Charlotte, NC, Deb C. Tyson of Pageland, Dot (Roosevelt) Rutledge of Heath Springs; uncles, Pete (Linda) Gaskins of Jercy City, NJ, Lonnie (Sylvia) Gaskins, Timothy (Mary) Gaskins, Chris Gaskins and Terry Gaskins, all of Jefferson, Randy (Leatha) Clyburn and Artis Clyburn, both of Pageland; special niece, Zakeyiah Leach; a host of family and friends.
Flemming Funeral Home served the Gaskins family.
